I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and specialist in addictions of 29 years experience as a front-line practitioner working within the public sector. I can assist with a broad-spectrum of issues. I provide one to one counselling, couple and family therapy. I am experienced in working with adults of all ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientation, and physical and mental ability. It is my belief evidenced from my work with a great many unique and wonderful persons that all of us have the innate ability to heal ourselves. I see my role as merely an assistant in this self-healing process.

Have you come out of an emotionally abusive relationship? Do you want to rebuild your confidence and self esteem? As a survivor of narcissistic abuse, do the negative messages that were told to you remain, although you are no longer in the relationship? This can leave you with low self-esteem and hypervigilant, leading to anxiety, and / or low moods. Often, because narcissistic partners are master manipulators, survivors often don't tell friends and family, or if they do, sometimes they are not believed. This can be a lonely experience.

I can help with a wide range of issues. I offer mainly Person-centred therapy. I work non-judgmentally with warmth, empathy and understanding and have a calm, gentle, caring approach. Many clients come to therapy with labels like "Depression", "Anxiety", "PTSD". But on their own these labels tells me very little about your issues, needs, or goals. You might be someone that needs a safe, non-judgmental environment to really be free to express yourself in a way you can't elsewhere. Maybe you don't even know how to begin exploring your emotions. It is all too common for us to get stuck in our emotions left over from something in the past, or use more "acceptable" ones to cover the most helpful ones. I'll help you pay closer attention to your emotions as they're experienced in session.

I am trained in Person-Centred and Existential Therapy, which is a branch of Humanistic School of Psychology/Psychotherapy and with vigorous continual Professional training in other therapeutic models such as CBT, I apply an integrative approach to meet each individual’s therapeutic needs. I have extensive knowledge and experience of working in the NHS – CMHT setting – Voluntary Sector Mental Health Charities, such as MIND. In my private practice, my clients come from general public and I am currently offering on line counselling by means of SKYPE or ZOOM.
