About
Hi, I’m Tom! If you’re reading my profile, then chances are either you or someone you love is having a really hard time at the moment. Thinking about getting support can feel really scary and difficult – and making that decision to pick up the phone or go to your first counselling session can feel terrifying. I know this because a long time ago it was me making that first phone call too. I work with a very wide range of issues - nothing is ever off limits with me. Whatever it is that's affecting you, I'm here to help. I work with teenagers, adults and families.
I’m what we call a “Person-Centred” counsellor. This means that I believe that counselling should be all about you, and that as your counsellor I am not an expert in your life. I’m not here to judge you, analyse you or tell you what to think or to feel. In our sessions together, my goal is to empower you to talk about whatever you want to.
Choosing the right therapist for you is really important. It needs to be someone you can feel comfortable working with and who you might be able to trust. Because of this, the first session with me is 100% free of charge with no obligation to continue. If you choose to contact me I want you to be sure that I'm the right fit for you.
