I am a qualified Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. I offer individual therapy to those up to the age of 25 as well as work with families and parents. I have worked in the NHS for over 12 years in teams including general CAMHS, eating disorders, forensic psychotherapy, sexual health, sexual abuse services, and I have a small private practice. I am qualified to doctoral level allowing me to treat a range of mental health presentations, encompassing diagnosable conditions such as depression and anxiety, and also exploring matters of identity, life transitions and the complexities of everyday living.
Psychotherapy is a non-directive space where complex behaviours, thoughts and emotions can be explored. The purpose is to develop self-awareness and understanding, challenging ways of being in the world that are causing unhappiness, anxiety and distress. Where appropriate, I maintain links with networks/families to ensure treatment is well supported.
It can take time to feel comfortable sharing personal aspects of one’s life. The work of therapy will progress gradually, allowing trust to develop. I will be guided by your needs as well as compassionately challenging you to explore further along the way.
