I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years' experience of working with individuals and families who are feeling overwhelmed by the challenges that life has a habit of putting in front of us. I am extremely passionate about my work (ask anyone who knows me!) and gain a great deal of pleasure from seeing the positive change that therapeutic support can bring.
My specialist area is psychological trauma, including both single-incident trauma and the lasting impact of difficult childhood experiences, disrupted attachment relationships and other complex life experiences.
No two people experience trauma in the same way, so I believe therapy should never be a 'one size fits all' process. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Systemic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DDP/PACE and CBT, to understand each person's experience and tailor therapy to their individual needs.
My experiences give me a great deal of empathy, understanding, and insight into the impact of life events, allowing me to support others in a truly non-judgmental manner.
