Bereavement, displacement, loss and trauma are as real to you as you have experienced them. Whilst the thought of counselling can be overwhelming, it is important to allow yourself the permission to literally breathe through events as you talk about them. My Integrative practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy draws from the therapeutic approaches of Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT). Therefore as you decide on the issues that have brought you to therapy, I will endeavour to offer a safe, confidential and co-created space to help us explore what you share, as you navigate towards wholeness.
My work with St Christopher's Hospice as a bereavement counsellor and an agency for women fleeing domestic abuse, has enabled me to gain an understanding of how these issues do not discriminate. Any age, culture, religion, ethnicity, etc can be affected. I also have over 10 years of experience with adults 65+ with long term bottled-up issues.
I work in a non-judgmental, warm, and respectful manner, and endeavour to work through shame, guilt, blame, and other feelings that compound your presenting issues. Adapting my training and experience, I can offer short-term counselling or long-term psychotherapy in a supportive atmosphere to best suit and serve you.
