Counselling in SW1W

The past leaves its footprints in the future. It can keep affecting us, making it hard to be happy, especially when life throws up challenges. Sometimes it helps to have someone working alongside you, helping you find your path. I know starting therapy can be daunting, so I use an integrated approach to create a safe and supportive environment where you will feel empowered to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together we will unpick patterns that no longer serve you, helping you build a more positive future.

I’m a psychotherapist who helps clients navigate personal and professional challenges. When our life, relationships or jobs don’t go as we want, it can be frustrating and upsetting. This may lead to stress, feeling down, depression, or burnout. Speaking with a therapist can help us understand our thinking patterns and find a way forward.
Before training as a therapist, I worked for 20+ years in finance and business development, on trading floors in The City and New York, which has given me an understanding of the demands of high-pressure corporate environments.

Despite being reflective and capable, many of my clients feel quite differently inside. You might feel anxious, exhausted, uncertain, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you’re navigating burnout, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, or a deep questioning of who you are beyond the roles you’ve had to play. My approach offers a warm, thoughtful space to explore these experiences, helping you to reconnect with your inner resources and move towards greater ease and self-understanding.

I offer therapy through a multi-approach lens – because one size doesn't fit all.
Each of us is shaped by personal experiences, which influence how we make sense of ourselves, others, and the world around us. What feels supportive or helpful can differ from person to person — as well as from one moment to another.

The counselling journey is never the same but in most cases, it starts with helping the client pinpoint their current challenges and struggles and get clarity on their patterns of thinking and behaving. We will also try to envision what the term “better life” looks like. We will then move into understanding how these patterns came to be. We will explore how these patterns are impacting the client's life. Finally, I help the client decide what changes must take place for their life to improve.

I am motivated by a lifelong curiosity in people and their capacity to develop. I believe that the relationship between therapist and patient can be a vehicle for growth. I have worked with addiction, relationship and sexual issues, depression/anxiety and loss, as well as dealing with anger and violence. I am a psychodynamic practitioner. This means that as a therapist I am interested in listening to you and trying to help you understand how past experiences, often from childhood, affect your life today and the way you view yourself. Together with the therapist you can think in a different way about your past, present and future.
