I believe counselling is a collaborative process, a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, without judgement. It may feel right now that you want someone to fix things for you, however I believe we can work through your current issues and reflect on your past experiences towards lasting change. We will start by exploring what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from this experience. You may feel overwhelmed and unable to see how you can create effective change in your life. Through awareness and a deeper understanding, we will work towards increasing your self esteem and confidence.
My practice is based upon the belief that each person is unique and therefore use an integrative approach drawing on different theoretical models depending on the needs of my clients. I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, shame, changes in life circumstances, loss or the loss of hope and bereavement.
Together, we will create a therapeutic alliance from which we can create awareness of your coping strategies and patterns of relating with others that might negatively impact your self-esteem, anxiety, stress and relationships working towards increasing your self worth and confidence so that you may move towards valuing yourself going forward.
