I offer a confidential, relational, safe space, practicing trauma informed, compassion focused Art Therapy. Sessions centre around your individual wellbeing and personal goals considering your social emotional and mental health needs. Art Therapy does not require artistic skill and whilst it can offer a non threatening, non verbal approach it can equally be a verbal experience. The process offers art materials as a means of creative expression, sensory experience and reflection. Its is a mind body approach to self awareness and therapeutic intervention.
While specialised in education I work across health and social care. I work extensively with individuals and families presenting with complex needs and traumatic experience. I am able to integrate my experience and adapt my practice to meet need through therapy, intervention, support and advice. I work from evidence based, clinical reasoning and formulation.
I am person centred and relational in my work offering empathy, acceptance and attunement. Clear boundaries and expectations work towards developing a supportive therapeutic relationship. Taking time to reflect, regularly checking in together, develops shared learning and an opportunity to adapt and adjust to presenting needs throughout the process.
