People often come to me when something in their life or relationships no longer makes sense, or when the same patterns seem to repeat despite their best efforts to change them. Sometimes life looks perfectly functional from the outside, whilst underneath there is anxiety, shame, loneliness, trauma or a sense of disconnection. I work with individuals and couples, including professionals and people in creative or public-facing roles, to understand what may lie beneath these difficulties and how past relationships continue to shape the present, so that greater awareness can bring more freedom and choice in how they live and relate.
My work is relational and psychodynamic, with a depth approach to anxiety, trauma, relationships, shame and identity. I look at what may lie beneath present difficulties, including how early relationships and our experiences within families, groups and wider society shape us. I also work with couples and, where helpful, use sandplay and spontaneous drawing.
Therapy may feel uncertain at first, particularly when what is troubling you is difficult to put into words. I welcome individuals and couples who want to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. I am also a UKCP Recognised Supervisor (RS), welcoming supervisees seeking thoughtful, psychodynamic supervision. You are welcome to get in touch.
