When feeling overwhelmed with life, maybe experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, Psychotherapy can help you to explore what's going on for you and help you begin to understand yourself better, giving you a safe space to have your story heard. You may not know why you feel as you do, you just know that something is not right with you, and that's ok too. For some people trauma in childhood can lead to feelings of not belonging and to difficulties in making and maintaining relationships, psychotherapy could help. I work with both couples and individuals over 18.
Psychotherapy can involve a lot of talking, but when we get 'stuck' and talking is a challenge a more creative approach can be used. So I offer a variety of creative approaches that can help to reach those parts of us that talking on its own may miss. I have art materials, sand tray, Russian dolls and cards, among other things, to engage your creativity.
My background is in nursing, education and foster care. I have an interest in attachment theory and child development and how separation from our primary caregivers in childhood may influence the way we relate to others as adults. I offer long and short term support to both individuals and couples. Feel free to search Google for my website for more details.
