I'm a Psychotherapist at Lemons to Lemonade, an independent pyschotherapy, clinical psychology, and coaching practice based at Broughton Retail Park near Chester, run by partners Dr. Rachel Skippon, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and myself Dr. Stephen Skippon. I offer psychological therapy to help people deal with a wide range of emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic, panic disorder, stress, low self-esteem, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, problems at work, bereavement, and other forms of loss. I provide specialist therapy for people who have difficulty sleeping.
I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence for emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and stress; CBT for Insomnia; and Narrative Therapy, which provides ways for people to develop more empowering ways of seeing themselves based on their own values, skills, and knowledge.
In addition to my therapy qualifications and experience I have a doctorate (PhD) in psychology, and am a Chartered Psychologist (Research and Teaching). I'm a nationally recognised expert in changing people’s behaviours: I was asked to contribute evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry into Behaviour Change.
