You may be wondering why you do some of the things you do, things that may be harmful to yourself or others, or that keep bringing you back to square one. Perhaps you feel lonely, even when you are with other people, or stuck in the process of making a difficult decision or transition. You may be struggling with depression or anxiety, or feel stressed and find it hard to relax. Whatever your reason for ending up at my page, your being here shows that you have, at the very least, a glimmer of hope that things could be better, and a sense that you need someone to help you on your journey.
I offer psychodynamic counselling, an approach which seeks to bring into awareness unconscious beliefs, behaviours and coping strategies which may have helped you cope in the past, perhaps in childhood, but are now outdated and holding you back. Brought to light they can be made sense of and lead to the possibility of change if that is what you want.
I work in a warm, comfortable, private room in Farlington on the A27 just north of Portsmouth. At your FREE initial consultation we can decide whether we want to work together, followed by weekly 50 minute sessions. Having established a safe, trusting relationship we will explore your present difficulties in light of your past experiences.
