It is impossible for any of us to escape the ever increasing challenges in our lives and when things get on top of us, whatever the cause it can help to talk to someone not directly involved in your day to day life. Counselling is somewhere for you to be heard and offers a confidential and private space where you can think about and discuss your thoughts, emotions, events and relationships allowing you to work through these and make sense of your choices. Talking with a professional gives you the opportunity to explore challenging issues and obtain coping strategies for the future.
Work will be tailored to the individual, their situation and personality helping you to understand and effectively deal with issues that are preventing you from living life the way you choose. The various ways forward will be fully discussed and explained. Each person is unique and individual which means that no single approach is suitable for everyone.
I am an integrative counsellor comfortable working with both adults and children of all ages, working short or long term depending on what you feel you need. I have experience working with a range of issues including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress and grief, but whatever the issue the approach is the same: acceptance, respect and empathy.
