I am an accredited person-centred and experiential psychotherapist and counsellor. In addition to this, I had 28 years experience as a Registered Mental Nurse, working primarily with people who have substance use problems. I completed an MSc in Person Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy in 2017 and have worked in an NHS staff support service as a counsellor since then, alongside my private practice. My approach is based on offering a compassionate, non judgmental approach within a safe environment in the hope that this will allow clarity, reinforce current coping mechanisms and foster future growth. I charge on a sliding scale.
My experience to date includes working with people who suffer from depression, anxiety and stress, whether this is related to loss, transition, work, relationship difficulties, identity and a whole host of other life events and situations. I am also interested in trauma, attachment and how this impacts on our emotional health and relationships.
You will find in me a therapist who is committed to understanding the world and its difficulties from your unique perspective. I aim to do this with compassion, without judgement, but in a spirit of honesty and genuineness. While I usually avoid giving advice, I will help you locate the internal skills and resources you need to navigate your way.
