I am a Clinical Psychologist with 18 years of experience working in the NHS , within the Secondary Adult Mental health services. I am experienced in providing psychological therapies to individual presenting with distressing emotions and a wide range of difficulties due to the impact of adverse life events both in childhood and in adult life. My special interest is in working in trauma, with issues around sense of self, feelings of guilt and shame and relationship with self and others.
I aim to provide a compassionate and empathic space to hear each person's story &to identify specific goals for therapy. Therapy interventions will be evidence-based and tailored to each person's needs. I offer and integrate the following approaches into my practice: - CBT, CFT , EMDR and Somatic Trauma Therapy.
I believe that each individual has the inherent strength and capacity to heal themselves and I see my role as that of a facilitator in this process working collaboratively and alongside the individual , sharing my knowledge and skills acquired from both life and working experiences.
