Are you a parent worrying about your child or teenager's mental health? Are you a young person yourself who's struggling? I am a fully qualified, integrative counsellor working exclusively with young people aged 11-21 years. I have experience working with young people with a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, self harm, low self esteem, issues with body image, relationship/ friendship issues, school issues, family conflicts, sexuality and gender identity. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, have full public indemnity insurance, an enhanced DBS and additional safeguarding training.
I feel that traditional 'talk' therapy can be quite intimidating for some young people, so where appropriate, l offer a range of creative interventions such as crafts, activities and games to help the young person relax and start to explore their worries.
I understand that a lot of young people can feel quite uncertain about coming to counselling, but my main priority is that the young person l'm working with feels safe, comfortable and supported.
