About
Counselling provides a special, regular space for children and young people to come to. It’s a place where they can talk, think, draw, play, or creatively explore some of their worries and problems, through the supportive relationship with me, their counsellor. I have a wide range of art, play, sensory and literary materials for them to make use of. This unique process can help them to explore things and view things differently. Counselling is about helping children and young people to discover who they are and how they are managing in their world. It can be a very positive and empowering journey for them to go on.
I am an integrative (using a variety of theories and methods) counsellor who uses creative tools and methods to help children and young people express their thoughts and feelings. I am qualified to work with 5 - 18 yr olds. After the initial (free) assessment session, we will begin one-to-one sessions, short-term or long-term, depending on the young person.
My focus is building a positive relationship with the child/young person, as well as providing them with a comfortable and supportive space in which to explore things. Sessions are term time only and during the school day, so permission from school will be necessary. I can help with this if needed. Sessions are either face to face or online.
