Sleep Well Oxford is an online sleep clinic providing diagnostics and evidence-based treatment for a range of non-respiratory sleep disorders, including insomnia. It is run by Dr Dimitri Gavriloff, a Clinical Psychologist and ESRS Certified Sleep Medicine Specialist. As well as running Sleep Well Oxford, Dr Gavriloff works for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he runs a non-respiratory sleep service, and for the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute, University of Oxford where he is a Clinical Tutor in Sleep Medicine and leads the training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
We see patients from all over the UK via Zoom. Clinics run weekly and we are typically able to see patients within 1 - 2 weeks. With insomnia, the evidence-based treatment is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, but Dr Gavriloff's background includes training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Mindfulness-based Therapy for Insomnia.
Although Dr Gavriloff is a sleep medicine specialist, he is also a clinical psychologist trained in treating a range of mental health difficulties. Prior to training as a clinical psychologist, he spent several years training as a Buddhist monk in the Thai Forest Tradition, something that has strongly influenced his therapeutic approach.
