You are not alone. There are many reasons why people seek counselling such as anxiety, bereavement or relationships and it can be a combination of things that makes someone feel overwhelmed. I work with all age groups, genders and cultures; with individuals, couples and families. Talking can be difficult for anyone so I also offer creative and animal assisted therapies to enable clients to express their feelings and experiences in a less challenging way. I am experienced in different life issues: If you are Deaf I can sign BSL or you might be on the Autistic Spectrum. If appropriate I can also work with clients in a home setting.
My approach to counselling is based around integrative therapy, which brings together different elements of several therapies. Integrative therapists believe that there is no single approach that can effectively treat each person in all situations and so combine the most appropriate and essential components according to client need.
My interest in counselling goes back thirty years when I experienced how effective therapy can be. I learned how liberating it is for an individual to have the time and space to express anything they want in a safe and confidential setting. This influences my approach today and my aim is to always offer the same experience I had thirty years ago.
