I see clients (and supervisees) from all backgrounds and specialise in working with men, or women seeking to better understand difficult relationships with men. I work with many issues including stress, feeling sad, low self-esteem, loss and relationship difficulties. My clients often want to change something about themselves and need a place to feel comfortable, share their emotions and better understand their needs. Articulating emotions and needs can be a struggle at first for some and I am experienced in helping clients to open up over time. My work is with individual clients online or in person, both short and long term.
As an 'integrative' therapist I am skilled in several areas of psychotherapy and can adapt my approach to best meet your needs. My approach is 'relational' which means that I believe in order to achieve lasting benefits focus must also be targeted to what happens in the room between therapist and client, in addition to past events and current struggles.
I can help you to develop a range of skills for dealing with your problems and a greater level of self-acceptance. I suggest that at first we meet for an introductory session and should you wish to continue I usually suggest a further 8 sessions at the end of which we would have a review. For some people this will be enough, others may wish to continue.
