Hi, I’m Sheila. I’m a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working as a therapist in the NHS with people of all ages with a diverse range of problems and from a variety of backgrounds. I have particular expertise in issues of later life including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief/bereavement, adjustment to illness, carer burden, living with dementia and other life limiting conditions. Each therapy session is thoughtfully tailored to your specific problems and circumstances, drawing on evidence-based methods to help you achieve your goals.
I use a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Systemic therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based approaches.
I offer a warm and compassionate thinking and healing environment where together we can begin to make sense of what is causing and maintaining your distress. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a free no obligation 15 minute conversation where we can discuss the difficulties you are currently experiencing and whether I may be able to help.
