I have experiences working with depression, anxiety, substance misuse, grief and loss, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, identities and inter-cultural issues.
Hi, I provide individual therapy in North London and East London, working with Adult clients. I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to explore your concerns, difficulties, or feelings that might be hard to express or think about. I will stay alongside you through the process of discovery, exploration and change. I provide a sense of trust and safety, where you will feel listened to and understood. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I use different theories and approaches to best suit your needs. I also offer the arts and creativity in sessions, although no art experience or 'skills' are needed to get the benefit.

My work includes helping adult clients of all ages with a broad range of issues such as childhood abuse, sexual abuse, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, identity, relationship problems, feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, life transitions, loss, and death.
I am a bilingual psychotherapist offering ongoing and time-limited therapy both in English and Vietnamese. To me, therapy is an opportunity for us to explore ourselves, and search for meanings in life. My aim is to offer you a place where you can talk about your concerns freely and reflect on the situations that you find yourself in. I attempt to help you make some sense of your experiences, and through this process, possibilities might come to light, and you can then decide what you would like to do next.

I specialise in working with clients who have suffered from trauma including childhood sexual abuse and issues relating to difference.
" Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people." C Jung - Life events, experiences and relationships can have an impact on how we feel within ourselves making it difficult to cope day to day. Therapy can help us understand these experiences, helping one gain insight and perspective. Gaining understanding can be powerful and prompt change. I work with my client to identify issues within their life that may contribute to distress or problems.

I enjoy and am experienced working with a very diverse range of issues including anxiety and depression, low self esteem, bullying, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, loss, divorce, abandonment, attachment and trauma, and with a wide range of Adult clients (18+) including those from the LGBTQ+ and BAME communities and those with personality disorders.
As a relational humanistic psychotherapist, I specialise in creating a warm and safe, non-judgmental and empathic space where clients are able to explore any difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are getting in the way of healthy living, gaining insight into how to go forward. Oftentimes having suffered a significant life event such as a loss or bereavement, perhaps a divorce or other confusing relationship issues in the distant past, we become blocked, needing effective strategies and techniques to continue. I work online (during Covid lockdowns) by telephone or face to face, in both short and long term settings.

Coming to therapy, wanting to understand yourself, is a deeply vulnerable and brave thing to do. Life can be demanding and fast-paced and I think therapy can be a place that offers the opportunity to slow it down, connect with what our bodies are telling us and process difficult emotions or experiences. People come to therapy for a myriad of reasons and I have worked with a broad range of concerns and issues. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I offer a warm and compassionate space to explore. Therapy can offer a space to untangle and understand who we are and the opportunity to live more peacefully.

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression or loneliness? Or do you perhaps suffer from low self-esteem, and struggle to find purpose in life? Are your relationships fulfilling for you, or do you struggle to have meaningful and satisfying connections with others? Perhaps you've experienced loss of some kind, and are nursing a broken heart. Whatever it is, life sometimes has a way of throwing us challenges that can make us feel small or inadequate. The important thing is that you desire to take the first step on the path towards healing and self-discovery.

Sexual Abuse Counsellors

How do therapists treat sexual abuse?

A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?

Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?

Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?

As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
