I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist in Guildford offering services to adults (17yrs+). Qualifying in 1992 I have extensive experience with general psychological issues & specialist experience working in sexual & physical health services. I am passionate about helping people to make sense of their difficulties so they can work towards valued and meaningful changes. I will listen with empathy & without judgement to help you identify a way forward. My role starts with ensuring our initial session enables you to feel safe and understood. I have particular interest in trauma.
I can draw on a range of therapeutic models, which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and Mindfulness based therapies. This enables me to be flexible and tailor my approach to the needs of you an an individual.
The British Psychological Society says, “The title of Chartered Psychologist is legally recognised and reflects only the highest standard of psychological knowledge and expertise”. (British Psychological Society). Clinical Psychologists will only draw from approaches which are evidence-based and backed by national guidelines and research.
