Do you need space and time to talk? If so, I am here to offer you the time and space to explore your worries and concerns in a confidential and safe environment. In a busy world full of judgements and rules, I can offer you a space where your thoughts and worries will be heard, acknowledged and respected. I can provide you with a place where you will not feel judged and where you can feel free to express your deepest concerns. I can appreciate that making the first step can be incredibly challenging. If you have not experienced any counselling or psychotherapy before it is understandable that you may be nervous about what to expect.

Beginning counselling can feel overwhelming , so my aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can feel secure, supported and understood. During our work together, we will explore and process the difficulties you are experiencing. We are all affected by life’s journey and often have deep-rooted, painful issues that can prevent us from reaching our potential and establishing and maintaining healthy relationships. I work with clients presenting with a broad range of issues including bereavement, trauma, abuse, trauma, self-esteem, depression, relationships, stress, bereavement, health-related problems and work issues.

Worried you can’t get your head straight and feeling full? Perhaps you’re in the grip of strong emotions that you can’t control or maybe you can’t feel at all. You know something in your life isn’t right, but not where to start to get help. You may feel like you’re a burden. Talking to someone may seem daunting and you may worry you won’t find the right words. You just want to feel normal again. To be yourself. It may be stress, depression, relationships, addiction, past trauma, or something else. What you could do with is someone that you feel comfortable with; who listens and gets it. Call me now and let’s get you back on track.

Life is not easy, and if you are reading this you have probably figured out that you want to talk. Talking and being truly heard will increase your self-awareness and help you to understand what is going on for you. Experiencing trauma can leave you struggling with upsetting emotions, memories, and anxiety that will not go away. It can also leave you feeling numb, disconnected, and unable to trust other people as yourself. So being able to find a way through the trauma can be the reward you achieve when allow yourself to explore and work with me to find true you.

I offer a compassionate, safe and confidential environment that supports the exploration and expression of feelings, thoughts, beliefs and circumstances that may be having an adverse effect on emotional well-being and quality of life. Sometimes we just need a space to be still and reflect, a space where we feel accepted, understood and supported in gaining a deeper awareness into why we behave the way we do, or that can offer us an alternative perspective on challenging life situations. My aim is to support you in making sense of your life and working with you in moving to where you would like to be.

Many experiences bring you to therapy: a crisis, bereavement, relationship issues, an absence of something, anxiety or depression getting in the way, childhood experiences, abuse and trauma. Starting therapy is an important step. It is an opportunity to tackle your immediate concerns but also to understand them in the context of your life in general. It provides a space to creatively shape your life but also take your pain and struggle seriously. Therapy provides an opportunity to strengthen a sense of your own identity and worth and to experiment with how to take that into your relationships, career and life in general.

At some time or another, we all need additional help in dealing with the difficulties that life can bring. Modern, fast-paced living is often overwhelming and so making choices that are beneficial for us becomes more challenging. We often find ourselves taking decisions that move us away from who we truly are and the life we want to lead. Through therapy we can explore what has brought you to where you are now, what is no longer working for you and how to facilitate a shift towards a preferred present and future.

Hi, thanks for taking a look at my profile. I’m a mixed race therapist based in Hither Green and currently working online. I understand that modern life can present us with daily stresses and challenges that can add up and feel like too much. I can support you to work through difficult emotions, loss and change. Are you struggling to work something out? Are there losses in your life that you are yet to come to terms with? Is it impacting your relationships, work or home life? Maybe it’s just a feeling that something is not quite ‘right’ for you at the moment.

How can I find a therapist in SE6?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
