Sometimes in life we feel disoriented and troubled, not knowing which way to turn. We might be going through difficulties including stress and anxiety, relationship and sexuality-related difficulties, low self-esteem, feeling lost, depression, loneliness and obsessive thoughts. During these times, the gentle support of someone on our side can help bring clarity. Together, we will engage with your deepest worries and explore creative ways of dealing with them.

Are you stressed, anxious or depressed, even impacting on relationships at work or at home? Or maybe it's the stress of work or relationship issues, sexuality issues, or something that has happened to you, that you want to talk about.

I am passionate about peoples stories, there is a richness in Human Connection and the internal world. Therapy is not something that is very sought out in my culture and i found that there is often a disconnect with people from certain backgrounds (E.g Race, Class, Gender, Age etc.) and Mental Health Professionals.

As a clinical psychotherapist, I have over 10 year’s experience of working with patients and clients with many different struggles and difficulties. Trained as an integrative therapist, I work in a unique way that is based on your own individual needs. I believe that everyone is different and not every modality suits everyone. I know only too well how difficult life can be, yet uniquely different, we all suffer pain and loss in many similar ways. I feel truly humbled to work in this field and would be honoured to support you. You are not alone.

I provide an initial session free of charge so that we can learn about each other and you can experience therapy from a practical perspective without the financial commitment. If we think we can work together, I offer weekly sessions, usually for the same day and time, but I am also happy to work a little more flexibly if you need.

I have experience working with individuals across a range of presentations such as low mood and depression, anxiety and OCD, gender identity, self-esteem issues, bereavement, phobias, emotional regulation difficulties , autism/ neurodiversity, ADHD, and difficulties with interpersonal relationships.I believe that unprocessed experiences impact on our well-being. Thus, constructive change requires an understanding of how unresolved issues interact with present 'difficulties' which in turn influence our future direction. I am lecturer in Higher Education with NHS experience. I can offer online sessions or FTF at London Bridge.

My name is Elizabeth and I work with adult individuals and couples. Sometimes we feel lost and struggle to cope with life’s difficulties. Taking the first step to contact a therapist can feel really difficult and so I’d like you to know that our therapeutic 'space' is safe and non-judgemental.

It's challenging to have a human experience because of the social conditioning. Also, it's fascinating to be a human because the more you know about yourself, the better choices you can make & the more you can appreciate life. As per conditioning, we think that ther're “good” and “bad” feeling but once we educate ourselves on the emotional level, we realise that somatic sensations, emotions & feelings are important messengers acting as an internal compass. If you decide to work with me, I promise to show or remind you how to use the internal impulses to your benefit & for a much wholesome life.

I offer a free 15 minute phone call before meeting. This gives you an opportunity to outline your current circumstances and enables me to consider if I might be able to help you. Your first session will be an assessment where I will ask questions to better understand your past, your present and your expectations. This session is a two-way process for both you and I to consider if we might be able to work together. Any ongoing therapy will last 50 minutes and would typically take place on a weekly basis. I can work in an open ended way or time limited if you would prefer a shorter period. We would then work in a more focussed way

I offer a safe, non-judging and confidential therapeutic space where thoughts and feelings can be shared and explored. The therapeutic journey I believe can serve as an opportunity to uncover one’s inner resources and resilience, as well as an opportunity to discover new and more flexible ways of relating to oneself, others and life. My psychotherapy training is in a mindfulness based approach called Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP). This particular approach integrates concepts of mindfulness and awareness with modern psychological perspectives and theories.

Online psychotherapist with an eclectic and inventive approach. Practicing Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I believe that people already have within themselves what they need in order to overcome their struggles. All it takes is a bit of guidance and someone to ask the right questions. My wish for my clients is that they find the inner freedom to live the life that they want. I mostly work with expats, travelers, digital nomads, burners - I can relate to the lifestyle and can appreciate the need for flexibility and rescheduling sessions when necessary, however, anyone is welcome.

Perhaps you’re experiencing difficulties in past relationships. Maybe you lack confidence in social situations or generally finding it hard to cope with low self-esteem. Perhaps you are experiencing work-related stress or generalised anxiety, depression or panic attacks. It might be that you simply found yourself stuck in life and can’t find the way forward. Sometimes stressful life events can be so emotionally overwhelming, that we no longer wish to cope alone. I understand how overwhelming life can be at times.

We could all use some support with our mental health sometimes. We can find ourselves feeling stuck - maybe you're feeling anxious, or experiencing low mood, perhaps facing a transition in your life or an evaluation of your identity, purpose or relationships. Therapy is a relationship and a process that supports you to make sense of yourself and the world around you. As an integrative psychotherapist, I will meet you empathetically, drawing upon a range of therapeutic skills and creative strategies that can help you gain a deeper understanding of your historical and present self, and help you understand and manage your emotions.

How can I find a therapist in London?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, postcode, or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
