Face to face & online.
Many of our clients come to us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. They may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, identity struggles, trauma, or wondering if ADHD could explain lifelong challenges. Some have tried therapy before, others are reaching out for the first time. What they all want is a space to feel heard, to understand what’s happening for them, and to find approaches that genuinely help. At Psyche Therapy, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution — which is why we tailor support to each person. Our goal is to help you explore what works best for you, with compassion and evidence-based care.

I know how difficult it is to reach out for support and how bumpy our personal journey can be at times. I am a fully qualified, experienced therapist and I work with a variety of issues including trauma, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues and stress. I believe that the key in my therapeutic work is simply being there for you with an open heart and mind. Being fully present means meeting you and your life's journey with empathy and compassion, because I know from the experience how powerful it can be to feel really seen and understood.

I currently offer online or face to face in stepps mon-fri from 9-6pm.
Going through a cancer diagnosis as a mother made me feel scared and anxious of the future but I often felt no one understood. I reached out to counselling and I felt like it was the first time someone heard me and never offered me advice or their opinion. It made me feel validated and that’s something I want my clients to experience within their journey

We can work together online or in person.
If you struggle with emotions (anger, resentment, grief, depression or anxiety) and want to work through emotional baggage, I could be the therapist to create a safe space where you can talk openly about what has happened in your life and figure out how to create a fulfilling life. This often involves working through core wounds such as abandonment and neglect, which can be challenging but ultimately reduces emotional suffering. People struggle with various emotions and thoughts, such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, and we are usually left overwhelmed with nowhere to go and no one to speak to.

I offer sessions in my cosy Glasgow therapy room Weds - Friday and online on Tuesdays.
I am a very experienced therapist, with around 30 years in practice helping people who feel stuck or disconnected, who are suffering losses, in transitions in life, or struggling with something that just doesn't feel right. If that sounds like you, you may wonder whether it's even possible to feel alright in the world as it is, or maybe there's something in your past or present experience that you've never really felt able to speak about. Counselling, an attuned, non-judgmental relationship in which it's safe to explore, can really shift your experience.

I am available currently online on Friday afternoon/evening.
I have walked this journey of self discovery, since I was 18 years old, looking for ways to feel less stressed, anxious, angry, depressed. I have learned how to meet myself with kindly awareness, curiosity and honesty. But I am not going to tell you that I have all the answers for you, but I do know that you do. And sometimes we need someone to help us explore our questions, find ourselves, and the answers for the way forwards.

Struggling with focus, feeling overwhelmed, or wondering if ADHD could explain your challenges? You’re not alone — many adults and young people reach out after years of uncertainty, frustration, or being misunderstood. Our clients often feel stuck at work, in education, or relationships, and are searching for answers, clarity, and practical support. They want a process that’s quick, accessible, and trustworthy — not another long waiting list. They also want to know what comes next: how to manage symptoms, improve day-to-day life at each stage of their journey, and feel more in control whether taking medication or not.

I want to offer you some encouragement as you scroll through this site looking for a counsellor - it is not easy to do when you're experiencing all sorts of complicated thoughts and emotions. You're here though. You're already doing something to help yourself, and my hope is that you'll find the support you need either with myself or another counsellor. I am qualified and experienced in holding and responding to complex experiences and emotions. However, equally important to the training and experience of a counsellor is how you feel in their presence.

I mainly work online, so that I can offer a financially inclusive system.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling; abuse, anxiety, overthinking, self-esteem, work or relationship issues, to name but a few, you're probably looking for something to change. Counselling offers you a different kind of relationship, one where you can open up, explore and reassess current or historic issues which may be holding you back. With greater understanding comes greater resilience and self-empowerment, which can enable you to make the changes you want in order to enjoy your life more fully. That life can be hard is a fact. That we have to face challenging times alone is not. Get in touch and start that change!

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialised therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
