I am a qualified CBT therapist specializing in helping clients with low self-esteem, social anxiety, self-criticism, impostor syndrome, and perfectionism. My expertise in these areas is grounded in my experience as therapist and 30 years of teaching and research at the University of Dundee, where I am a Professor of Social & Health Psychology.
I firmly believe in the beneficial relationship between psychotherapy practice and empirical research. What I learn from my clients inspires the research projects I pursue, and in turn, my research findings help me gain a deeper understanding of the challenges my clients face.

In the LGBTQIA+ or queer community, for example, we know the value of self-expression and exploration in a safe, supportive environment when it comes to understanding our own gender / sexuality / place in the world.
