We offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in a comfortable, confidential space where you can be helped to explore the relationship between your thoughts, your feelings and your behaviours.
We set up the GCTC in 2011 to help as many individuals struggling with aspects of their life as we could. We then set up a training organisation so that we could train as many therapists as possible as in this way we would reach an even wider audience and help so many more people who needed help. Now we have lovely freshly decorated premises in the centre of Glasgow, providing an oasis of peace in a busy city centre. We have many therapists working with us, mostly having come through our own training courses where we are able to ensure they embrace our ethos, helping you to understand your own life working where you want to be.

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a member of the BACP.
Hello, I’m David. A very warm welcome to my page. Life can be really tough and challenging, particularly in these current uncertain times. Our tricky minds are often good at allowing us to become overwhelmed by our thoughts and emotions and this can make us stuck in certain behaviours and struggling to make sense of things. You may find yourself feeling anxious, low in mood or feeling stuck but not sure how to change things. Whatever may be going on for you, it can really help to have someone to talk to impartially to give you the space to talk through your difficulties, gain valuable insights and work towards your goals.

Hi I'm Laura & I am an experienced CBT therapist specialising in the treatment of anxiety and OCD. I am based in Glasgow city centre but offer online therapy to clients throughout the UK. Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task particularly if you are looking for a particular approach or skill set and it's so important to find someone you can trust and connect with. I help clients to identify, challenge and overcome their negative thought processes and unhelpful coping strategies that no longer serve them. I am also knowledgeable and experienced in using exposure response prevention techniques in the treatments of OCD.

I'm a CBT therapist, who specialises in working with anxiety disorders.
Is anxiety impacting your quality of life? Do you find yourself constantly worrying about lots of different things (everything and anything & the fear is taking over?) Or, perhaps your anxiety is more specific eg social-anxiety, health-related anxiety. Looking to reduce & manage panic attacks? Anxiety can be accompanied by low mood as it can feel difficult to enjoy being ‘in the moment’ for fear of the unknown. I'm experienced in supporting you to make sense of, and overcome these difficulties, allowing you to manage your worries more effectively & to reclaim peace, motivation, excitement & happiness.

I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2009 & since then I have worked with people on a wide variety of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationships, weight issues & OCD.
Do you feel overwhelmed or anxious? Is it all getting too much at times? Do you feel stuck but don’t know how to change? It can help to have someone impartial to talk to who can help you through difficult times and give you some space to deal with whatever is causing your distress. This is where therapy can help. I believe people seek therapy because they want to make a change in their lives. This can be scary, but having felt overwhelmed and anxious at times myself, I hope to be able to offer a supportive, calm, safe environment for you to explore your issues and work towards the best solution for you.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy, and I will collaborate with you to find the best approach to fit your needs and goals.
Are you going through a difficult time in yourself or with others and need a space to figure it out? Perhaps it is an unhelpful pattern that you have struggled with for years, and now is the right time for you to think about change. Or perhaps it is something recent that has had a significant impact on you and you need space to heal. Sometimes the most helpful thing to do is to take a step back within a safe and compassionate place to explore these difficulties, get to the root of them, and understand the pattern that keeps them going in everyday life.

I am fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and COSCA.
Our many experiences in life , the messages we may have taken from these and how they may now play out in our lives can impact on us day to day. However this is often out with our awareness as a result of habit. The difficulty can be identifying what these are and actually recognising that there are different perspectives and alternative ways that we can learn to cope and function in a way that feels healthier. Using a CBT approach we can work collaboratively to explore and understand your problems further, and begin to identify possible unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours that may currently be causing you difficulty .

Core models in my training included cognitive behavioural therapy ( CBT ), systemic therapy, psychodynamic therapy and an elective in cognitive analytic therapy (CAT).
I work with most psychological difficulties and aim to provide a safe space to explore your individual experiences and challenges. I aim to develop a shared understanding of your experience to help us establish goals for therapy and beyond. These might include processing difficult experiences and gaining insights into patterns of thinking or behaving that are contributing to current difficulties. These insights can help us to identify and support the development of sustainable skills and strategies that will help you to reach your goals and manage difficult experiences and strong emotions.

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Counsellors
Cognitive-behavioural therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the client modify those thoughts and the behaviours that flow from them. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments.

If you're looking for CBT therapy in Glasgow or for a Glasgow CBT counsellor these professionals provide cognitive behavioural therapy, cbt group therapy, cbt therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy. They include CBT therapists, CBT psychologists, CBT psychotherapists and CBT counsellors.
