I’m a qualified CBT therapist, Yoga instructor, and studied somatic psychotherapy (movement based). At times life can feel very over whelming, we can lose perspective and fall into a pattern of unhealthy habits. These behaviours may be your coping strategies to help you feel better but aren’t so helpful to your physical and mental well being resulting in feeling anxious and depressed. Having an outside perspective on what’s going on in your life can help refocus your mind and realign your life style with your core values so you can begin living with balance, integrity and autonomy.

I specialise in mood and affective disorders, such as depression and anxiety, I work with trauma and addiction and I have many years of experience working with ADHD, and neurodiversity.
I am a counselling psychologist who has a broad experience in both psychology and psychotherapy. When working together I will always prioritise your individual needs. Even though I have my own style of therapy I will always make sure to collaborate with you and to be as flexible as needed so we are always on the same page when working together. I hope to create a non-judgemental, safe and hopefully very comfortable environment where you can feel heard and understood.

I specialise in working with people who are Autistic and/or ADHD and always strive to work in a neuro-affirming way.
As an integrative counsellor, I understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I will work collaboratively with you to identify your unique preferences and goals, drawing on different theories and methods that are most helpful for you. I take a strengths-based approach, identifying and building on your existing skills and resourcefulness to bring about change. I will seek to co-create a respectful therapeutic relationship that provides the safety you need to explore the experiences that brought you to counselling.

Hello! My name is Emma-Louise and I am an integrative therapist trained primarily in Person-Centered and Holistic therapies. I believe that therapy should be a safe place where you can come as the human you are and speak to another human without being labelled, diagnosed or dictated to. We all experience our life so uniquely, that it's impossible to put anyone into a neatly fitted box, that's where I want to work with you to explore your authentic self.

My practice is unique as I work from both a scientific and spiritual lens meaning I take a person's background, context, personality, coping mechanisms, resilience, self esteem, values and so many other factors into account when making a treatment plan for a client. Together, we go on a learning journey and I provide resources. Whilst combining both my background in psychology, integrative counselling and psychotherapy and extensive spiritual provision training, I aim to increase your wellbeing and support you to alleviate distress by finding new ways to cope. Life can be incredibly challenging and you do not need to suffer alone.

Thank you for visiting my profile. You may be looking for help with a specific issue, looking for more purpose or clarity in life, more understanding about yourself or maybe you might be confused. Sometimes choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming and despite the qualifications and experience it can be more about finding the right fit between yourself and your therapist.

Hi, I'm Sheena. Many of my clients have spent years feeling anxious or out of step, successful on the outside, but quietly struggling inside. Often, they're only just discovering they're peri-menopausal, neurodivergent or navigating big identity shifts and transitions, such as moving to university, changing career or exploring their relationships. Maybe you've always had a love for self-development. You've read the books, you attend the courses, you reflect deeply but something still feels stuck.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
