I also use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Do you experience intrusive thoughts that cause distress, a constant doubt over whether you have checked the door is locked, or a need to undertake compulsions to reduce anxiety? Does part of you realise that these thoughts and compulsions are unhelpful, yet you struggle to stop them? Do you worry you are ‘going mad’ due to this? These may be symptoms of OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which can be treated successfully with therapy. We can work together to overcome this. Intrusive thoughts do not define you or mean you are 'bad', they are simply thoughts, and we will work to together to take away their power.

Clients most often opt for methods/exercises from Existential, Gestalt and ACT therapy, and from humanistic psychology.
Patient. Dependable. Approachable. I’m an Irish psychologist and my practice primarily focuses on helping people work through relationship problems, depression, low self-esteem and self-worth, loneliness, and LGBTQ+ life. A common theme among these tends to be the nature of our relationship with ourselves. Often, we offer kindness and compassion out into the world towards those around us, yet save the harshest criticisms for ourselves. Our work can support you to explore and re-examine how you understand yourself, and move towards a more positive, comfortable way of being with your whole, fullest self.

I use an integrative and pragmatic approach, where I pull from different therapeutic modalities (CBT, ACT, Psychodynamic, Narrative, Existential) to help you achieve your current goals.
So often our difficulties make us feel stuck, bound in place. We can feel caught in a loop, and not know how to get free. We might even know what to do - but either can't seem to do it or it won't work. And sometimes we don't even know what is making us feel stuck and where to start. Problems with our health, mood, traumatic experiences, changes to our life circumstances like work or living arrangement, relationships, habits- any of these can make us feel stuck.

It’s normal, at some point, to get stuck, or to struggle facing life's challenges. Sometimes we know exactly what’s wrong but at other times we might just have a nagging sense that something isn’t quite right. Therapy can help by supporting you to explore the roots of your distress, understand more clearly what’s keeping you stuck, and create new ways to think about yourself and your relationship roles and patterns. By uncovering the obstacles holding you back, you can learn to problem-solve, make better choices, practise healthier coping strategies, and turn your goals into realities to find a greater sense of peace and fulfilment.
