The bottom line is, how do we approach our life in a way that thriving is our most resonant way of being?.
Many people have tried traditional approaches to health care and they are now ready for alternatives. Whether you are exploring therapy for the first time or looking for a unique approach, I can provide you with some workable options to finding your own creative solution for problems like anxiety, depression and the pain we all face when loss occurs. Sessions are 1 hour 15 minutes in length so that we have time to center and fully explore the material you bring. Sessions are conducted online via a web conferencing service affording you ease, privacy and attending to your process in the comfort of your home.

l know and understand that life has deep and sacred meaning in a wider cultural crisis context.
I work with people who are committed to exploring deeply what might be emerging through them in their longing for a different way that is more authentic to who they really are as well as concerned with what's happening on the planet. People may arrive through loss of connection, longing, grief, feeling lost, misfit, crisis, trauma, addiction, depression, illness, betrayal, relationship breakdown. There may be a deep trust felt, or a loss of trust with longing to trust again. There might be longing to connect with Nature again too.

Whether you are suffering from increased anxiety or overwhelm, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties or marriage problems, you don’t have to go around feeling like this. As a therapist with additional and diverse life skills and interests, I can help you feel better, and quickly. Every situation is unique, but when working with you, I will aim to get to the nub of any problems quickly and effectively, and to provide practical solutions. For deeper trauma we can shift into a longer relationship, using IFS or Narm. I can show you how things can be better for you, using evidence based and trauma-informed methods.

I’m a qualified post grad CBT therapist, Yoga instructor, and studied islamic psychology (Sufism) for 17 years. Life at times can feel a little over whelming, we can lose perspective and fall into a pattern of unhealthy habits, sleeping too late, emotional eating, drinking too much alcohol, and in constant worry. These behaviours may be your coping strategies to help you feel better but aren’t so helpful to your physical and mental well being resulting in feeling anxious and depressed. Having an outside perspective on what’s going on in your life can really help refocus your mind and realign your life style with your core values.

I deeply believe that we all have the potential to live a fulfilling life , at ease with ourselves and others.
For the past nine years I have been helping individuals, couples and families with mental health difficulties across a range of settings. Typical problems that I have experience treating include depression, anxiety, OCD, adjustment difficulties, trauma/PTSD, stress and relationship difficulties. I see psychotherapy as a personal journey, a chance to get to know yourself better, a safe space to explore and to grow. My interests lie in a human, in embodied experience and in the process.

Life is a series of changes, often bringing loss and pain but also the seeds of a positive transformation. Even if you're unsure how to move forward, a theme can emerge. Counselling can facilitate a new understanding of ourselves, our different relationships, our place in the world. By reassessing hopes and fears, we can work towards the difference we want to experience. Alongside general counselling, I have specialist experience in post-natal depression and traumatic emotional and sexual abuse. My approach, however, is to treat every person without presumptions, trusting the space that opens up and finding the best way for you.

It is a courageous step to reach out to a therapist and, in recognition of this, I have wholeheartedly devoted 30 years of my life to helping people create real and lasting change. I have completed a vast amount of psychological training and am guided by extensive experience in really hearing the parts of my clients’ experience which are keeping them ‘stuck’ or are barriers to happiness. I help people to understand crucial scientific findings about how the brain affects our happiness and I use the most effective techniques to help clients become liberated from unhelpful repetitive behaviours or thought patterns.

How to describe the massive impact of loss and grief on our hearts, minds and daily life ? The weight, chaos and turmoil of grief is a common experience which plays out uniquely in each of us. We lose interest in just about everything; nothing seems to matter. We're often frightened, wondering whether how we feel today we'll still be feeling in the distant future. We're often angry, intolerant of others. We seek so many reassurances... We don't want to let go of our grief because it's connected powerfully to the one we love and miss. How can we learn to let grief share our life ? How can we understand it? How can we keep afloat?

Life Coaching Counsellors

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
