Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read through my page. I'm originally from South Africa, but have lived across the UK since 2016. This has given me the opportunity to develop an insight into how complex life, and our histories, can be, and the impact and difficulties this can give rise to. I draw from a psychodynamic base- understanding the nature and impact both the relationships with others, as well as ourselves, can have. I have experience working with teens - older adults, and tend to offer a more gentle, rather than structured, approach. I strive to develop a space where client's feel safe, protected, and heard.

Are you looking for a space to talk, be listened to and make sense of how you feel? I understand it can be hard to open up to someone. I'll provide a safe, confidential and nonjudgmental place where you will be supported to explore any issues which may be affecting your life and help you to find a way to move forwards. I believe that we all have the ability to grow and achieve our potential and that a positive therapeutic relationship can greatly aid this process.

Living with neurodiversity like ADHD, Autism, learning differences, OCD etc. can bring both unique strengths and daily challenges. Anxiety, stress, and relationship struggles are common, leaving many individuals, couples, and families feeling stuck. I understand this deeply—not only through years of professional training but also from my own life in a neurodivergent family. In therapy, I offer a safe, supportive space to explore how neurodivergence shapes communication, intimacy, and family dynamics.

Accepting that we're finding things difficult is often the hardest part. Throughout every stage of life we can experience times when things don’t feel right and we struggle with our relationships, or to make sense of our thoughts, feelings and world around us. This can lead to us feeling anxious, overwhelmed and struggling to communicate.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—but you don’t have to do it alone. In our first session, we’ll explore what’s brought you here and how your challenges are affecting your life. Difficulties like anxiety or low mood don’t have to rule you—you can gain more understanding and control. We’ll focus on building self-awareness, as gaining insight into your needs, patterns, and emotions is a powerful first step toward gaining control and creating meaningful change. That journey can begin with a conversation.

Psychotherapy may be a wonderful way of not only helping you with your struggles but also increasing your sense of freedom. As a therapist and another human being,I believe in your strengths that I highly promote;being holistic, person-centred but also pretty dynamic to address your issues on social, psychological, biological, physical, cultural and spiritual levels is the most important part of this journey and it is my objective. Ethics and truth are the values I've carried in my soul and spirit since I started practicing in 2011. My work is supervised and strictly adheres to the International Heilkunst Association code of ethics.

You may be a high-masking autistic or ADHD woman. You may have spent years coping, and even outwardly succeeding, until your nervous system simply can’t keep up. Many of my clients are neurodivergent women, often late-diagnosed or self-diagnosed, navigating burnout, perimenopause, trauma, self-doubt, and deep exhaustion from masking. You may have tried therapy before without lasting change and feel stuck in the same patterns. You’re looking for specialist, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that helps you understand why you struggle and offers practical ways to move forward.

People seek psychotherapy for a broad range of reasons. Often when other avenues have already been explored but perhaps you have been experiencing recurring and enduring patterns of behaviour and difficulty in some part of your life. Something needs to change.

Most of us need someone in our lives to feel safe and close to, and who will want that with us. A good relationship is being close enough to feel seen and heard, while having enough space to maintain a sense of agency and choice. But in life that balance is sometimes hard to find or sustain. We get stuck, or feel isolated or frightened. That's when therapy is important, to help you explore relational questions in a safe in judgemental way, to work out what is best for you.

Starting therapy can seem daunting and scary at first. But it's the first step you have taken to embark on this journey. Feeling isolated and not able to make sense of the world around you? Questioning all that you have grown up with? Racing thoughts constantly clouding your mind? Feeling detached, anxious or upset? Not sure how to process what you are experiencing? All this seems pretty overwhelming but more common than you think. Through acceptance and kindness why not allow yourself to be able to make sense of all this through therapy. Let each session speak for itself and discover different parts of yourself.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
