I use Transactional Analysis to focus on how we relate to each other, to understand the patterns and rules you live by.
I assume you have something you would like to talk privately to somebody about. I wonder what it is like to be you. Do you often feel alien, struggling to understand and be understood by others? Is finding friends and keeping them hard? Would you rather avoid groups whilst wanting to belong? Does change hit you hard? Do you feel distant from others and even yourself? And maybe answering seemingly simple questions, such as “how are you?” or “what do you need?” feels difficult. I have some idea of what that is like. I offer you acceptance within a non-judgemental, empathic therapeutic relationship.

I draw on a range of approaches such as transactional analysis, psychodynamic and person-centred models to provide the support you require in exploring issues and difficulties you are struggling with.
Sessions will take the form of a conversation where we explore your experience, thoughts, feelings and behaviours to enable you to understand yourself and your situation better. Gaining greater awareness facilitates change and can help you to live your life more authentically (e.g.moving forward, feeling better, connecting to yourself and others).

That means we can explore how different parts of your life connect and impact each other, rather than focusing only on quick fixes. The aim is to create space for deeper understanding and meaningful, lasting change.

I believe that a deep, equitable, non-judging and trusting relationship, between two people is at the heart of all successful therapy. In the words of E.E. Cummings, ‘It takes courage to grow and become who you really are’ I have found that growing and developing a sense of who we truly believe we are, in the relation to our past, ourself, our families, friends and society is a life long endeavour. It is my belief that it helps us when we can practice self-love, to raise our self-esteem and to realise that we are deserving of love and respect. That each and every one of us is more than good enough.

Trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) and influenced by psychoanalytic thinking, including Lacan, I am attentive to language, repetition, and the ways people become caught in conflicts around desire and responsibility.
I offer individual psychotherapy for adults, with a particular interest in psychologically complex and often hard-to-speak-about experiences. My work commonly involves shame, guilt, and self-criticism; patterns that repeat despite insight or effort; sexuality, desire, and taboo; the impact of sexual harm; sexual behaviour that feels troubling or conflicted; questions of gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity; and difficulties in relationships and intimacy. My approach is exploratory, and suited to people who want to think more deeply about what is troubling them.

I have worked in many different roles over the past decade, even before becoming a counsellor, in which I've helped people improve their mental health. I take pride in my ability to work with people from all walks of life. I have worked with people with complex mental health diagnoses, ex-offenders, drug addicts and sexual abuse survivors. I seek to help without any prejudice or bias. We all have moments in life when we need help, it doesn’t matter who we are, where we come from or what we’ve done. We’re all humans!
