I am an experienced therapist & clinical supervisor who believes in creating a safe space for us to bring vulnerabilities & challenges. Living inevitably means that we face challenges and experiences can get stuck and leave us struggling to cope, or to be at our best. Slowing down, understanding what we do, and being aware can help us to live in a healthier way - I aim to help people clear a path for better flow in life and work. I value a healthy baseline - moving & eating well, sleeping soundly, making contact with nourishing people, and living with awareness. I offer Gestalt and DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) approaches.

Hello and welcome. I’m a person-centred therapist who believes that much damage is done in relationships. I also believe that, as hard as it might seem, it is in relationship that we heal. The core of my practice is in offering you a relationship you can trust. Where you’re accepted, held and supported. I will welcome you, exactly as you are. Whatever you are dealing with, I commit to working with you openly and sincerely as myself. I will listen, understand and engage with you sensitively and compassionately as a “fellow traveller”, in the hope that it will allow you to feel safe to explore your concerns.

Most of us experience times in our lives when we feel lost, stuck, misunderstood and sometimes we can find ourselves in a dark place not knowing what to do or how to make the changes we might feel are needed. This can involve questioning who we are, wrestling with difficult questions, trauma, illness, addiction or loss. Sometimes people don't have anyone they feel able to talk to or sharing with people close might be difficult. I hope to offer a space in which you can feel safe and respected while you explore these challenges and move towards improved mental health.

If you're not sure why you're here, then maybe I can help find out why. You may feel sad or confused, or you may just want to understand what's on your mind.  Therapy can help you explore the issues you are currently having.  Talking to a neutral, non-judgmental person can help you understand your feelings. My approach is flexible, which I believe helps meet the individual's desired outcomes.  I am gentle and self-effacing, and I offer a caring environment to help you openly share your process.

Are you struggling to balance a various life roles with your personal needs? I work with individuals and couples in the UK and internationally who feel disconnected from their purpose. Clients often come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed by expectations, and wrestling with stress or emptiness. Together, we’ll explore the underlying causes of these feelings, move beyond the pressure to "just tough it out," and help you reclaim your authentic narrative. Insight tells us that motivation rarely arrives on its own; it is the act of stepping forward that creates the momentum for change.

Many of the people I work with are struggling with questions of faith, identity, and culture, often alongside a loss of meaning or a fractured relationship with belief, responsibility, and self. I work with people who want to understand themselves properly, not just manage symptoms. Experiences such as religious trauma, diaspora identity, internalised racism, and racial trauma sit at the centre of my work. My role is not to offer quick fixes. It is to help you think clearly about your life, your history, and the patterns you find yourself repeating, especially the ones you already recognise but cannot shift.

Creating a space for personal growth in therapy begins with the development of a safe therapeutic relationship. My approach offers a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental active listening space where you can take time to explore your experience. This allows us to work together to define the areas that you would like to work on and to check in on how you are experiencing your internal and external environment. Doing this helps to form a clearer picture of environmental, emotional, physical, cognitive, and behavioural events in your experience and how you currently manage and respond to them.

Dissociative Disorders (DID) Counsellors
How does therapy for dissociative disorders work?
Dissociation may be triggered by stress or other upsetting circumstances, and therapy can address the traumatic events at the core of an individual’s dissociation. Understanding why a person may dissociate can help the therapist and the individual come up with alternative methods of coping. A person with a dissociative disorder may get stuck on negative thinking, for example, and treatment like Cognitive behavioural therapy is a gold standard for breaking such thinking. And dialectical behaviour therapy, for example, can help a person manage their anguish through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for dissociative disorders?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, schema therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful memories and past traumas. These therapies work to integrate an individual's different identities into one person.

Are there specific medications for dissociation?
There are no specific medications prescribed for dissociative disorders. However, psychosis, depression, anxiety, and/or panic often co-occur in dissociative disorders. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for any accompanying symptom which may include antipsychotics, antidepressants, or anti-anxiety drugs.

How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Like any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. There are still other patients, especially those who have co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, who may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months.
