The first steps we take on our healing journey can be the most challenging but finding the right therapist to work with that you can trust and feel comfortable with can make all the difference in helping you move forward and feel safe and supported in exploring the issues you are facing. I have always believed therapy should be an informal, authentic and relaxing experience. The therapeutic approach I offer is gentle and empathetic , you will find yourself at the centre of our therapy together building a trusting relationship, valuing your individuality rather than just working with your issue.

I work with people from all backgrounds who need help with one or a variety of issues including painful childhood memories, low self-esteem, relationship (family or partner) issues, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, loneliness, and low self-confidence.
If you’re searching this website for a counsellor or psychotherapist then there’s probably something that’s troubling you. Finding the right person to trust with your vulnerabilities is important and often scary. I am highly motivated by the joy of seeing my clients getting the breakthroughs they are looking for and freedom from what holds them back or hurts them. I focus on empowering my clients and ensuring they remain in control of the pace and outcomes they want to achieve. My clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgemental style.

A strong relationship with your therapist is the foundation to connecting with unresolved thoughts, feelings, hopes and fears.
Life can be a challenge, especially now. As your therapist, I can offer you a secure and trusted space to bring your needs and concerns. I believe that therapy should lead to a “step change” where my clients become able to make an immediate difference to the way they think and their relationships with others. I work to build trust and empathy and strive to understand the world from your perspective. I can help you to understand that small changes to the way you see things can have a major impact on how you feel.

I work within the Psychodynamic method, an approach that uses the relationship we build to safely help you understand your emotions and behaviours, bringing to light unconscious patterns of behaviour that are not working for you.
Hello, I'm Julie, welcome to my profile. Are you someone who has experienced difficulties in your life that have left you feeling anxious, depressed, or alone, and coping with day-to-day activities has become a chore? I offer a safe, confidential space to come alongside you as we work together to help you gain insight and self-awareness. A place where you are valued, accepted, and heard. Time to look at your relationship with yourself and others. I have specialised experience in helping people who have been impacted by experiencing childhood sexual abuse, ritualistic abuse, domestic abuse and family/childhood abuse.

Choosing to take part in therapy can be a daunting experience. It is really important to find someone that you feel you can work with. My philosophy is that the relationship we will create is the key to therapy. The way in which I work is based on the principles of Transactional Analysis. It may be that you are feeling stressed, anxious or depressed and are having difficulty coping. Sometimes people just want to explore how their past continues to influence their present. Therapy can help us understand ourselves more, engage with ourselves and others more positively and move on in our lives.

As a pluralistic trained counsellor, I understand that our relationship is key to making you feel comfortable enough to trust that we can work together safely, in a way that suits you.
Life throws us many challenges and we all need some help from time to time. Together we can explore uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment to help your cope better and think more fondly about yourself. I can help you reduce your anxiety or stress; improve low mood and wellbeing; increase your self-esteem; improve your self-confidence; reduce negative body image thoughts; replace yo-yo dieting with longer term sustainable strategies; cope with the impact of living in a larger body; help work towards stopping binge eating; and cope better with hormone related issues, perimenopause, and menopause.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
