I have experience in bereavement and loss issues, as well as in anxiety, relationship issues, and drug and alcohol addiction, along with many other concerns that can affect and overwhelm our every day lives.
Everybody struggles sometimes and talking about whatever may be troubling us helps us to explore our inner feelings. However, considering counselling can feel a bit daunting. Often, we are so used to putting others before ourselves that it can almost feel selfish to take care of ourselves so we just try to 'get on with it'. It can be difficult to take that first step but I can provide a safe space where I will work compassionately with you to help explore whatever may be troubling you. It can be healing to speak to someone outside of your own circle who can be non judgemental and empathic.

I have experience of working with anxiety, bereavement, trauma, PTSD, depression and gender dysphoria.
Finding a therapist who you feel really "gets you" is not always easy and can take time. From personal experience I know how invaluable therapy can be when you share your vulnerabilities and receive compassion without judgement in return. Whatever is bringing you to counselling at this time in your life, I would offer you an open and honest space to share your feelings without fear of rejection. I would be privileged to help in your search for the answers that you are looking for to move forward from where you are now, and in doing so help you feel more at peace within yourself.

I specialise in working with attachment and relationship difficulties, trauma, bereavement, and anxiety, and provide Schema Therapy and Somatic Experiencing Therapy to work specifically with deep-rooted emotions and the manifestation of these emotions in the body.
I’m Conor, a psychotherapist and counsellor, but most importantly, a human. Over the years, I have learned a lot about people, the mind, and what makes people tick. I want to help you make sense of your story, and to understand the different parts of your mind that make up who you are. I work with people who are questioning why they think and feel the way they do, and who often have deep-rooted patterns that create difficult experiences and emotions. My job is to be your teammate and help you get where you want to go.

I help mothers navigate babyloss grief and pregnancy after loss anxiety, guiding you toward moments of peace and connection.
You've experienced the unimaginable, losing your baby. Now, each day feels like walking through fog. Or perhaps you're pregnant again, but instead of joy, you're drowning in anxiety. Every appointment triggers panic. Every twinge of pain sends your mind spiraling. "What if it happens again?" Maybe you're afraid to bond with this baby, to buy anything new or to tell people you're expecting. You feel guilty for moving forward, yet guilty for not embracing this new chance. People say "at least you can get pregnant" or "this one will be fine," but they don't understand, the fear is constant. You don't have to face it alone.

I have a particular interest in bereavement, loss, trauma and low self esteem.
Life can throw up many challenges which can cause us to feel unsettled, upset and confused. Having someone to talk with can help to untangle and make sense of the emotions that are associated with the circumstances you are facing. I place value in the therapeutic relationship and offer a safe, confidential space for you to explore whatever you are grappling with. I commit to being fully present and believe that counselling can enable you to gain greater self understanding. I love seeing clients go from struggling to thriving and accompanying them on that journey is a real privilege. I do both short and long term work.

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
