With a specialist interest in working with young people and their families, I have enjoyed particular successes in helping teenagers and young adults manage both mild and complex social anxiety; generalised anxiety; phobias; and OCD.
Perhaps you’re a teenager or young adult, who experiences physical symptoms of anxiety (such as stomach aches or racing heart), which make you want to avoid certain situations. Or maybe you’re a parent or guardian, eager to get the best support for a loved one who struggles with anxious thoughts or behaviours. Rest assured, you’ve come to the right place. I care. My interest in providing timely treatment for difficulties such as these is the reason why I founded Flourishing Futures Psychology. I too was prone to getting tangled up with anxiety when I was younger, so I know how it can try to trip you up.

Can’t sleep because your mind won’t stop?
Constant worry following you everywhere? That tight feeling in your chest that never quite goes away?
Or maybe it’s panic attacks. The kind that hit out of nowhere, heart pounding, can’t breathe, absolutely certain something’s wrong. They’re over in minutes but leave you rattled for weeks.
And now you’re scared of having another one. So you’ve started avoiding places. Situations. Your world’s shrinking and the anxiety’s growing.
I help people resolve anxiety and panic attacks, not manage them. Real recovery is about teaching your brain to recognise you’re actually safe.

I do a lot of work with clients with OCD.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in loops of overthinking, or worn down from trying to cope on your own, therapy can offer a place to pause and breathe. Many people I work with say things like, “My mind never switches off,” or “I’m exhausted from holding everything together.” You might feel trapped in your thoughts, constantly on edge, or quietly battling self-doubt while getting on with daily life. Often there’s a sense of, “I don’t know how I got here — I just know I can’t keep going like this.”

TL;DR I mostly work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, and/or OCD stuff/intrusive thoughts, to better understand what's happening and find ways to improve things.
I’ll encourage your interest in yourself and your life, including the overlooked or unwanted aspects, as it’s hard to change what we don’t pay attention to. I don’t know what anyone should do and I don’t push solutions. Mostly I listen, offering thoughts, questions and ideas, and hopefully furthering a shared understanding of whatever we're talking about.

Many of my clients are students or researchers in academia or industry, but I've helped people from diverse backgrounds with various issues, often around self-esteem, OCD, anxiety and related problems, such as procrastination and perfectionism.
My theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I take a holistic approach to therapy, often with a focus on meaning (how we make sense of our lives, and how we generate meaning). I am also passionate about the psychology of video games; if you're a gamer, we may explore how you relate to what you play, if we both think it's helpful.

Life abroad can be enriching, but it often comes with challenges that feel overwhelming. Many people seek therapy when they notice recurring patterns that cause them distress, when emotions and thoughts pile up and become unmanageable, or when old coping strategies and the support of friends or family are no longer enough. Sometimes, therapy is simply about wanting to better understand yourself and build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship with who you are.
Our approach combines diverse therapeutic perspectives and an understanding of different cultural contexts, offering a broader view of people and their inner experiences.

I work with anxiety, low mood, OCD, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, and the impact of past or traumatic experiences.
It’s not always easy to make space for yourself, especially when you’ve spent a long time focusing on everyone else or simply trying to keep going. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and begin making sense of what’s been feeling difficult.
I work with adults who want a supportive space to talk openly, better understand themselves, and navigate the challenges they’re facing.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
