I also draw on attachment-based approaches to explore how past relationships may shape the present, and use CBT to look at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours connect.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Many clients come feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. My practice is welcoming to people from all walks of life, including LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent people, and those in diverse relationships. Together, we create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight, build resilience, and move towards a life that feels more fulfilling and authentic.

If you carry loss, trauma, or struggle and are looking for deeper understanding rather than quick fixes, psychodynamic therapy provides a space for connection and self-acceptance. Rather than treating the symptoms of depression, anxiety, ocd or eating-disorders, therapy will support you to connect to yourself in new ways. Daring to be grounded in your emotional life, also opens up avenues for growth through loss, questions around identity, loss of purpose and major life transitions.

You may be living with anxiety or trauma alongside neurodiversity (ADHD, autism) or the emotional shifts linked to PMDD or perimenopause. Perhaps you have learned to mask, adapt or push through, appearing capable while feeling overwhelmed within. Recurring relationship patterns, burnout or self-criticism can follow. Therapy offers a steady space to understand your nervous system, your history and the patterns shaping your present

I offer an emotionally safe and supportive space to explore yourself. With curiosity and empathy I'll be alongside you as you explore parts of yourself you find difficult to sit with. It may be that you don't know where to start, or how, everything might feel 'too big'. Together, we’ll seek to understand why you’re not feeling yourself right now and help you move toward greater self-understanding. I work with children, young people and adults, with each client experiencing the counsellor they need. There are no prescribed pathways, no expectations, I seek to build a strong therapeutic alliance to build your trust in me.

Everyone carries a unique history, and no two experiences of struggle are exactly alike. You are looking for more than just a listener; you want a partner to help you navigate your internal world. Your goal is to move toward a life that feels more authentic, resilient, and balanced, guided by your own pace and needs.

It’s not always easy to make space for yourself. Therapy can help give you that space, to finally slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s been feeling difficult. I work with adults who want a supportive space to talk openly, better understand themselves, and navigate the challenges they’re facing.

I am a fully accredited Counselling Psychologist and EMDR therapist with a specialist interest in relational trauma and C-PTSD. I work with adults who have experienced ongoing or developmental trauma, including emotional neglect, abuse, attachment trauma, and relational wounds that continue to affect self-esteem, relationships, and a sense of safety in the world. Many of the people I work with describe feeling “stuck", living with chronic anxiety, shame, emotional overwhelm, dissociation, or a sense that something is wrong. My role is to offer a thoughtful, collaborative space where we can explore these experiences together.

I work with couples who care about each other but feel stuck in repeating patterns—arguments that go nowhere, growing distance, or a sense of being misunderstood. Many arrive having tried to resolve things on their own, yet find the same dynamics keep resurfacing. In our work together, we slow these moments down and look at what’s happening underneath—emotionally, relationally, and at the level of the nervous system. I actively guide conversations in real time, helping both partners stay present, understand each other more clearly, and begin to respond differently, so the relationship can move forward rather than remain stuck.

Attachment-based Counsellors
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioural Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
