I have advanced training in trauma, including the Rewind Technique, and completed a 90-hour, university-accredited online trauma-focused program (third-wave CBT) at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University that provided invaluable frontline insights and practical trauma- intervention skills.
Hello, a warm welcome to you! My name is Yuliia. I work with individuals and groups in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, supporting people facing a variety of challenges. If you are seeking help with trauma, life transitions, or personal challenges, we could be a good match to work together in a supportive space where you can process your experiences and regain balance. With a flexible, culturally sensitive approach, I aim to support you in understanding your experiences, building resilience, and moving forward with clarity and confidence.

Modern life is difficult and we can all easily find ourselves in situations where we are struggling. Perhaps with addiction, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship issues, mood disorders or behavioural difficulties. Our mental health can be negatively affected. Research highlights that receiving counselling from a counsellor or psychotherapist, in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space can help us heal and grow. Drawing on a range of therapeutic tasks, with you in control, we can move towards your goals on your path to wellness and good mental health.

As a Sports and Exercise Psychologist (HCPC registered), I support and empower those I work with to overcome challenges faced. I have worked with individuals, teams, and organisations facing different circumstances. Sometimes it may be a particular challenge or obstacle - other times it may be looking to continue building on particular strengths.

Thank you for visiting my profile. You may be looking for help with a specific issue, looking for more purpose or clarity in life, more understanding about yourself or maybe you might be confused. Sometimes choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming and despite the qualifications and experience it can be more about finding the right fit between yourself and your therapist.

Sometimes we experience changes or traumas that leave us struggling with the pressures of life, relationships, work, or studies. This can affect our self-esteem, our sense of identity, and our ability to cope. This can become overwhelming and may lead us to unhelpful or harmful thoughts and behaviours. With help, we can overcome our difficulties and learn to manage our emotions more effectively. With compassion, empathy, respect, and a safe space, we feel heard, considered, and valued. By understanding our thoughts and behaviours we can feel empowered to make positive changes that can lead us to fuller and more enjoyable lives.

Are you a parent or carer of a child or young person who has additional support needs, special educational needs or learning disabilities? Are you struggling to understand your child's needs, their learning or their behaviours? Would you like to learn more about helpful strategies and approaches that you can use to reduce their behaviours and anxiety, or to enhance your child's mental health and learning? Would your child benefit from help to navigate relationships and school? Would it be helpful for you, too, to talk over your concerns in a safe, and supportive setting?

Hi my name is Sam. I work with children and young people. My focus when working with children and young people is to find a way to work with them to help with all of their areas of difficulty, from emotional to school and the variety of difficulties they can experience. I find that children and young people feel most comfortable in a familiar surrounding so I always try to work with the child in their own home or school.

Psychological intervention is designed to enable individuals to develop tools and techniques in order to help themselves in the longer term.
My name is Dr Craig Mackay and I am a HCPC registered clinical psychologist. I have been passionate about psychology since a young age as I have always been interested in individual differences and helping people to make sense of their difficulties. I am motivated by helping others to develop strategies to enable them to improve their quality of life. Intervention Counsellors
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behaviour and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behaviour has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.

How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.

What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.

Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
