Thanks for finding me here. Feeling bogged down or stuck with life problems is not a nice place to be. But, you’re already making that first, hardest step towards some change, just by being here exploring possibilities. I’m an Irish psychologist, and bring a relaxed warmth to therapy. This means I am not interested in ‘analysing’ you. Rather, we work together to understand what you’re experiencing, and what might help make things feel better. I hold a gentle neutrality alongside you, which allows you to get wider perspective on everything. I believe an essential part of my job is to help you regain steadier trust in your own power.

People tell me that I'm warm, funny and really good with people and I feel I bring this to my client work. I believe that clients need to feel safe and develop a sense of trust before the process of sharing can evolve in to the dynamic process I believe provides the best opportunity for change and developing insight. I think what underpins this is the belief that a tight rope walker wont let go unless they feel they have a safety net to catch them, perhaps clients are the same in that regard. My philosophy of counselling has evolved but what has never changed is my belief in the uniqueness and individuality of clients and progress

Thank you for visiting my website. I understand that taking the first step can be challenging, but please know that I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential safe space. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, meaning I incorporate multiple therapeutic modalities to align with each individual's unique sense of self. While my foundation is person-centred therapy, I also integrate psychodynamic, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. This flexibility ensures that therapy is tailored to diverse life experiences, genders, cultures, sexualities, and perspectives.

You’re here because you want something in your life to be different. This could be the way you feel / think about yourself, your relationships with others, and / or your world. It can be difficult to know where to turn and sometimes you can feel very alone, struggling to open up to those around you for fear of being burdensome, not understood or accepted. Therapy is an empowering process, supporting you to become more aware of and connect with yourself and others. Through it you'll reframe past wounds, identify and prioritise your needs, and enhance the feeling of security within yourself and your connections with others.

As an experienced therapist, I provide both short-term and long-term therapy tailored to your unique needs. Rather than applying a one size fits all approach, I work in a way that reflects your individual situation and therapeutic goals. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, workplace challenges, or relationship/family difficulties, I am here to support you. I also offer several specialised areas of expertise, working with issues around sexual abuse, shame, trauma, intimacy issues, pornography use and Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). Additionally, I am able to provide pre-trial therapy.

Sometimes we experience changes or traumas that leave us struggling with the pressures of life, relationships, work, or studies. This can affect our self-esteem, our sense of identity, and our ability to cope. This can become overwhelming and may lead us to unhelpful or harmful thoughts and behaviours. With help, we can overcome our difficulties and learn to manage our emotions more effectively. With compassion, empathy, respect, and a safe space, we feel heard, considered, and valued. By understanding our thoughts and behaviours we can feel empowered to make positive changes that can lead us to fuller and more enjoyable lives.
