I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapist (BAAT). I specialise working with children, adolescents, families, parents and mothers. Art psychotherapy is a form of therapy that uses art making as a way to express yourself, as well as speaking. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, respected and supporting trauma safely, emotional expression and psychological well-being. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice, based on trust to grow confident to explore feelings, experiences and relationships.
I have eight years experience supporting children and young people struggling with anxiety or depression, self-harm, disordered eating, and challenges relating to being autistic. I have extensive experience in primary and secondary schools working with children and teenagers through art psychotherapy which can include just talking.
I focus working with children, young people and families and offering parents bespoke sessions to help them support their children, equipping them with practical tools they can implement to improve relationships and communication within the family. Initial parental consultations help to ascertain the best course for the child/family.
