I have worked with and supported individuals with a range of complex mental health difficulties for over twenty years, initially as a nurse and now as a qualified CBT therapist . Many of my clients have needed an alternative way to view their situation to 'free' them from the distress they have been experiencing, along with a tailored tool box of coping strategies which they can choose from to empower them to manage the challenging experience. I have helped adolescent & adults experiencing OCD, PTSD, psychosis and/or complex emotional/relational difficulties, where the intervention required has been stress/anxiety targeted.
I offer a safe, therapeutic space for clients to explore their difficulties using a third wave cognitive behavioural approach which also borrows from other modalities such as compassion focused approach and mindfulness. I believe client led, collaborative therapy is the most effective route to enable individuals to achieve their chosen, focused goals.
I believe that individuals should have the chance to choose their therapist to best suit their needs and personality, therefore I offer a free 20 minute consultation where individuals have an opportunity to discuss their difficulties & requirements enabling a joint decision of whether I am the right therapist, with the right approach for them at this time.
