At certain points in our lives, we might find ourselves in what may seem like an unbreakable cycle of self-destructive behaviours, overwhelming emotions and a sense of disconnect to those around us, or perhaps even within ourselves. If you’re reading this, it is likely that you currently find yourself somewhere within that cycle or you may have feelings of anxiety, depression or low self-worth. You may be experiencing relationship difficulties, intrusive and obsessive thoughts, self-harm, child-hood trauma or grief. Whatever the reason may be, I just want to firstly remind you that you are not alone.
Although I predominately trained from a person-centred perspective, I like to take an integrative approach to therapy. In my professional experience, promoting flexibility in the therapeutic methods or techniques used within sessions allows for a tailor-made approach for each client and their variant and individualistic needs and expectations of therapy.
I Believe that the best therapeutic relationships are viewed as a collaborative process, working together to identify how to overcome personal challenges and gain a sense of self development. I actively respect the bravery that each client takes embarking upon psychotherapy, as I can empathise that it may seem daunting and scary to take the first step.
