About
Do you find that you are going along in life, and everything seems to be going just fine and then suddenly everything changes? We can be triggered by a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable, worried, anxious, depressed, angry or feeling we might be failing or letting others down? Sometimes life can be difficult and challenging, we may struggle with making decisions about what we want to do or where we are going? We may have to make changes in our life that feel scary and uncomfortable, other times we face changes in our life that we don’t necessarily choose.
In CBT we explore what is getting in the way of moving forward in life by developing practical solutions and strategies that will benefit you. By focussing on problems and difficulties you are experiencing rather than avoiding them together we develop personal goals and practicing strategies to help you manage unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Experiences in life with a curiosity for what makes us all so special and unique lead me to train as a psychotherapist. I too have experienced life's ups and downs from time to time and I have learnt through those experiences and training that I may want life to go my way, but it doesn't have to, and I can accept that and be okay about it.
