I am a BACP Accredited counsellor with extensive experience of working with adults, couples, young people and families. Everyone experiences trauma in life and at times it can feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Past and present stresses such as bereavement, abuse, family breakdown, self harming and depression can feel overwhelming and effective counselling can help a person to regain control of his or her life. The relationship between the client and counsellor is paramount to effective therapy. I am qualified, experienced, confidential, good humoured and above all, enthusiastic and dedicated to counselling.
I trained as a Person Centred therapist because my belief is that the clients have the answers - often they have become overwhelmed and lost sight of what it is they really want. I work eclectically, using several ways of working to help the client regain hope and feel more positive towards life.
I work with clients from 8 to 98+ years of age and have found that by being empathic, listening and gently challenging, plus a touch of humour, I have built strong therapeutic relationships with clients, enabling them to feel better in themselves and to cope with life.
