I am a chartered and HCPC accredited practitioner psychologist with several years of experience in mental healh services. I currently work across specialist eating disorder and pain management services within the NHS. I am also a research therapist for a higly specialist treatment resistant OCD service with the NHS. I work with a variety of difficulties including anxiety disorders and depression. I have a special interest in working with people with experiences of growing up with a parent with severe mental health problem such as shizophrenia.
I draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including third wave therapies such as Mindfulness, ACT, CFT and DBT), and the wider body of psychological therapy, including attachment, schema and psychodynamic approaches. I also use Brainspotting, a focused brain-body oriented method. In my approach I am guided by your individual needs and therapy goals.
I believe that every person has the potential and inner capacity for growth and healing. I offer a safe and empathic space where we can collaboratively explore your experiences,help you grow a deeper understanding of your difficulties and develop new ways for manging them so that you can begin to understand how to move forward,towards a more meaningful life.
