As a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist I have worked in various NHS and private settings: Anxiety, Depression, Panic, OCD, PTSD, Trauma, Perfectionism, Worry and Low Self Esteem are difficulties I regularly work with. Cultural sensitivity and diversity is important, including: Physical Health, LGBTQIA+, Ethnicity, Religion & other differences. I work with adults, young people and facilitate CBT groups (recently for social anxiety and also substance misuse). I'm open-minded, friendly, warm and approachable. I will help you learn useful strategies, tools and techniques; alongside providing space to process & understand yourself better
I incorporate third wave approaches such as Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Distress tolerance and Narrative Therapy into my work at Cambridge CBT. These approaches are particularly effective in working with painful emotions and processes such as guilt, shame, rumination, anger and an intolerance of uncertainty.
I work collaboratively, centering clients as experts in their lives. I believe in tailoring therapy to each individuals unique needs. I will help you reconnect with your values and provide you with effective tools and techniques that allow you to become your own therapist. Please feel free to contact me regarding CBT in Cambridge. www.ruthparchmentcbt.com
