I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist specialising in helping people with OCD. I have experience in working with the various forms of OCD including what is sometimes called "Pure O". In addition to CBT for OCD I also offer therapy for other anxiety related problems, including social anxiety and panic attacks, or other issues like low self-esteem.
In our first sessions we would work towards a shared understanding of your problem and what keeps it going - this will guide us in how to tackle it. We would set goals together and use a variety of strategies to help us reach them which include so-called behavioural experiments - for OCD some of those would be based on ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention).
CBT is an evidence based approach and is the only talking therapy recommended for OCD in the NICE clinical guidelines.
