If you are a gay man who has learned to contrive yourself in order to belong, therapy can be the one place you don't have to. Much of my work is with gay men around sexuality, intimacy, identity, and the relationship patterns that keep repeating no matter how clearly you can see them. That can look like shame tangled up with physical intimacy, connection that feels easier to reach through chemsex than without it, or appearing capable on the outside while feeling disconnected underneath.
My training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy starts from the idea that who you are was shaped by family, culture, and society. Your family of origin didn’t show you that your difference was acceptable. Naming that is often where the relief begins: what felt like a personal failing turns out to be a mask you learned in order to survive, and that can change.
The work is relational, which means we go at your pace and develop trust. I pay attention to the body, since shame and anxiety live there as much as in the mind. Reaching out can feel like a big step, so I offer a free 15 minute introductory call to see whether working together feels right.

Groups
Group Analysis
Group analysis is a form of group therapy that helps people understand themselves through their relationships with others. It is based on the idea that we are shaped by our experiences in families, friendships, and wider social life. In the group, members talk about their experiences and also notice how they relate to one another in the moment. This can help bring awareness to repeated patterns in relationships, emotions, and ways of communicating. The group offers a safe, supportive space where people can feel understood, gain insight, and begin to make meaningful changes in how they relate to themselves and others.
