‘I’m fine thanks.’ Do you hear yourself saying that, even though you know you’re not fine and don’t feel fine? Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety, seeing repeated patterns in your behaviour or relationships that seem to be holding you back, still finding it hard to cope with a bereavement, or you’re going through another situation or loss in your life that feels difficult to navigate? I can help you to explore why you might be feeling like you are, at a pace that suits you and in a safe space where you can be yourself and don’t need to wear that mask of being ‘fine’.
I am an integrative therapist, which means that I draw on a number of different ways of working, but I have a particular interest in psychodynamic and attachment-focussed approaches. I believe the past informs the present and that exploring previous life experiences and relationships can help us to make sense of what is happening for us right now.
From my own experience of counselling, I know how important the therapeutic relationship is, so I believe strongly in building a relationship of trust and non-judgement with you so you feel safe to talk about whatever you are struggling with. We’ll focus on what’s important to you and we’ll keep checking in to make sure you’re getting what you need.
